Installation of the Alba-USB controller
For the correct functioning of the Albatross Install Tool, it will be necessary to first install in the PC the controllers of the USB/NMEA2000 Alba-USB interface.
Installation step by step
Connect the ALBA-USB interface to a USB port. The hardware will be automatically detected. To follow the following steps:

It is important that the Alba-USB module is correctly installe before executing the Install Tool application. If you wish to be sure that this is correctly installed, you can check by consulting in the Windows Hardware Administrator:
- Click Start, Control Panel
- In the Control Panel window, search system
- In the System window, search the hardware tab and there is the Harware Administrator button

If the hardware shows as connected, you may proceed to commence the installation of the Albatross Install Tool.

Just follow the steps wich appear:

Select the languaje you wish to use the Install Tool (English or Spanish)
Configuration of the default units
In this screen you can configure the default units which will be used in the Albatross system.
Configuration and Calibration of the Albatross NMEA 2000 Hardware
In the NMEA2000 hardware configuratio screen, the program will show the detected elements. If the boat’s NEMA2000 bus has Albatros modules it will be necessary to now configure and calibrate the sensors connected to them.
For a correct functioning of the application, it is necessary to configure each and every detected Albatross module.

Albatross end-user interface: Editing of user data pages
Introduction
Albatross present monitoring information to the user in data pages, which are no more tham screen forms which show different instruments and/or switches. One arrives at these pages by the bottom menu, organised in sections.
The installer can decide to group instruments in page according to varying criteria. This can take a functional design, or can be a combined sedign of district elements which usually are required together.
Ordening the data pages
Only by entering this section, the page editing system will analyse the NMEA2000 instruments which you have configured and automatically propose and organisation of pages for those instruments, within a section called Data.
If you press the [+] symbol alogside Data, you will observe the pages data system suggests as adequate.
Top level
This is the section that encompasses all others. As data pages can´t be located at top leve, the only option is to created a new section.
Section and subsection
These allow us to order and contain data pages. We can name then, and create within then sub-sections, or data pages.
Sections cannot be created within sub-sections.

Editing data pages
The Albatross monitoring screens are ordered according to a grid over wich the instruments are automatically display.
Elements in the edit page
In the edit screen we can obseve at the left side the lisdt of instruments included on this page. We can modify it´s size and reposition them before or after others.
Underneath, we have the field, where width and height are defined.
In the upper part are the buttons which can be used to add new displays or delete those which are selected.
Adding new instruments to a page
If we click the button Add instruments to page, we pass to the selection of parameters screen.
The windows on the left shows the available parametes in the bus and the windows on the right shows the parameters.
Adding a diagram instrument (for Alba-Ligthing)
Three steps are required to configure this instrument:

Select the type of boat

Make the association Lights Diagram-NMEA Parameter
Definition of alarms
The Albatross On Board allows the user to define and modify his required alarms (in the installation tool, system default alarms will be configured).
Also, of course, it allows the creation of new alarms.
If we click “Edit” in any alarm. we will access the dialogue editor for that alarm.
It is necessary to define four basic parameters:

Name: This text are will represent the alarm in the Alarms section of the client viewer.
- Activation conditions: Describe which values activate the alarm. These are configured with the following parameters.
The maxium value and minim value
Sense of the activation
Sensibility of the activation

Action produced by the alarm
To achieve that, press “New” in the Action window
Type of possible actions:
Show a message on screen
Automatically send an SMS (Alba-com)
Automatically send an email (Alba-com)
Activation/Disactivation of an on-board instruments
(Alba-Out4 and Alba-Out8)
Activation of Albatross SW system licenses
On the upper face of the Alba-USB, under the barcode, you will find the serial number S/N: XXXXXXX.
Connect with Emmi Network SL and on providing the serial number, you will be given the necessary activation codes.
Once you have them, license each system pack with the corresponding code clicking on the button “Edit activation code”.
Once finished with all codes, click “Save” to make the changes permanent and activate the license.
